You don’t need a referral to consult a physiotherapist.  We’re skilled in evaluating, diagnosing, and addressing various musculoskeletal injuries (muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, and bones).

However, if your injuries stem from a workplace or motor vehicle accident, we do need a referral from your doctor. This ensures effective communication between us and your doctor to determine your most suitable treatment plan.

Additionally, if you’re eligible for treatment under an EPC (Enhanced Primary Care) plan, a referral from your doctor is necessary before we can commence treatment.

Yes! When you have private health insurance with Extras cover, you will be covered for physiotherapy.  To find out how much you get covered, contact your private health insurance, and quote the following physiotherapy codes:

Initial consultation 500

Follow-up consultation 505

We understand that plans can change, so you’re welcome to modify or cancel your appointment at no charge by giving us at least 24 hours’ notice.

For changes made less than 24 hours before your appointment, there will be a cancellation/ non-attendance fee of $60. Late cancellation/ non-attendance fees for gym appointments are $120.

Of course, we recognize that unexpected situations can arise. If you’re facing unforeseen circumstances, please reach out to us directly so we can find the best solution together.

We are a private clinic and unfortunately do not bulk bill.

However, if you have a Medicare EPC (Enhanced Primary Care) referral, you will receive a rebate from Medicare after your appointment.

Our goal is to provide the highest standard of care and personalised treatment. Charging a consultation fee allows us to maintain the time, expertise, and quality service that our patients deserve.

This is a great question, and the answer can vary depending on the type and severity of the injury.

As a general guide:

  • Mild muscle strains often improve within 2–4 weeks.
  • More significant ligament or tendon injuries may take 10–12 weeks

It can be scary thinking about how long it may take to recover. The good news is that your body is constantly healing. With the right treatment and guidance, many people start to notice pain relief and improved function within the first few weeks. Some patients even feel some improvement after their first session.

Understanding where your pain is coming from is key. Education and the right exercises can help you move more confidently and support your recovery.

Not necessarily!

In many cases, you can continue training or playing sports with some modifications. After a thorough assessment, we can guide you on what movements are safe, what should be adjusted, and how to keep active without aggravating the injury.

We’ll work with you to create a personalised recovery plan that helps you stay active while progressing safely back to full training.

Not usually.

Physiotherapists are trained to assess and diagnose many injuries without the need for scans. In most cases, we can determine the cause of your pain through a detailed history and physical assessment.

However, there are situations where scans may be helpful, such as:

  • Significant trauma or accidents.
  • Symptoms that don’t follow typical patterns.
  • Pain that is not improving as expected.

If imaging is needed, we will guide you through the process and refer you to the appropriate healthcare professionals, so you’re not left trying to figure it out on your own.

Your body heals best when it keeps moving – but in the right amount.

Think about sitting through a four-hour movie. Eventually, you start shifting in your seat because your body becomes uncomfortable. That’s your body telling you it needs movement.

Injury works in a similar way. Gentle movement can help promote blood flow, prevent stiffness, and keep your muscles working.

A helpful guideline is:

  • Pain up to about 3–4/10 during movement is generally acceptable.
  • The discomfort should settle once you rest.

If the pain lingers into the next day or worsens, it may mean you’ve done a little too much.

Every injury is different, so part of our role is to help you understand how much movement is right for your body and guide you safely through your recovery.
